Special Announcements for Summer

We hope your summer is going well. We won't be back to regularly scheduled newsletters until the Fall semester begins, but we do have some special announcements, plus a lot of training opportunities for Compass 2G.

CITL Graduate Affiliate Job Opening

The Instructional Development team at CITL is looking for a new Graduate Affiliate.  Grad Affiliates are experienced TAs at Illinois who have a keen interest in the theory and practice of good teaching in higher education.  This is an hourly position, intended for those who have primary funding from another source, yet the capability to work a few hours extra per week. See this page for more information about the position and how to apply.

Microteaching Facilitators Needed for the Grad Academy

We've got a great group of instructors volunteering for the Grad Academy this August, but we could still use a few more microteaching facilitators.  If you have even a little bit of teaching experience at Illinois, including being a TA for a lab or discussion section, and you have 90 minutes to spare the week before classes begin, please contact Lucas Anderson (lander23@illinois.edu) to learn more about being a microteaching facilitator.

Teaching and Leadership Course for Engineering TAs

Experienced instructors from the College of Engineering, in collaboration with CITL and the Academy for Excellence in Engineering Education, are offering a course this Fall for Engineering TAs who want to learn more about good teaching and how those skills can transfer to other profesisonal contexts.  See this flyer for more information.
