Purpose

The purpose of the CITL Online Course Survey is to examine the effectiveness and perceived quality of Illinois Online courses in an effort to improve students’ overall online learning experience. The results of this student-centered survey are analyzed both for individual courses and in aggregate form, and are sent to the administrative designate for online courses within each College.

CITL administrative staff may use the data collected from these surveys to:

  • Improve online course design and development processes
  • Improve processes related to marketing and student services
  • Facilitate educational and institutional research 

Dates and Deadlines per: Spring 2017 Academic Calendar

  • Spring 2017 A
    • February 3: Provide CITL with a list of courses accurate as of 1/30/17.
    • February 10: For courses using Moodle, CITL will uploads survey links into Box.
    • February 27: For courses using Compass, CITL will send survey links to students via email. For courses using Moodle, surveys should be made available on this date in order for response rates to accurately reflect course enrollments.
    • March 13th: CITL will pull Extra Credit lists with the cutoff date of March 10th 11:59pm.  These will be delivered via in Box.
    • Spring 2017 1 & B
      • March 24: Provide CITL with course list accurate as of 3/17/17.
      • March 31: For courses using Moodle, CITL will uploads survey links into Box.
      • April 24: For courses using Compass, CITL will send survey links to students via email. For courses using Moodle, surveys should be made available on this date in order for response rates to accurately reflect course enrollments.
    • May 8th: CITL will pull Extra Credit lists with the cutoff date of March 10th 11:59pm.  These will be delivered via in Box.
    • June 12: CITL will upload final reports in Box.
