Online Learning

Online Education

Many University of Illinois colleges and academic departments offer online and off-campus degree programs and courses through CITL. Units working with CITL in this capacity have access to a large number of services aimed at helping units design and offer these courses and programs in an online format to students everywhere. CITL also provides registration support to distance students.

Courses are offered in various formats for greater flexibility and convenience and are available for credit or as noncredit courses. Credit offerings enable participants to fulfill state and professional certification requirements, expand knowledge, enhance skills, and improve performance. Our professional development offerings (which include several noncredit courses and conferences) enable interested parties to sign up for courses purely for personal enrichment, or to network with colleagues at events that are specific to a particular profession.

Several online graduate-level degree programs and certificate programs are available. Enrollment as a degree-seeking student requires admission through the Graduate College.  Some programs allow enrollment on a non-degree basis.
