Inclusive Teaching Workshops
Teaching Excellence Workshops
On this campus, teaching excellence is defined by four key dimensions: well-designed, well-delivered, inclusive and ethical, and reflective and evolving. CITL workshops are intentionally built around these four dimensions and are appropriate for faculty at all stages of their teaching journey.
Our workshops and events explore research-based practices and offer opportunities for faculty to share ideas and strategies with peers. A revolving schedule of workshops are designed to meet faculty where they are and cover topics like preparing for tenure and promotion, principles of effective course design, strategies for inclusive teaching, support for research and innovation, the effective use of technology, and what teaching excellence means in our changing higher education environment. See our Calendar of Events for more information or contact citl-info@illinois.edu to arrange a personalized consultation to discuss your teaching interests.

Targeted Credentials: Teaching Certificates
Many instructors appreciate recognition for their sustained engagement with teaching excellence and inclusive practices, which is why CITL offers a variety of Teaching Certificates. These targeted learning experiences allow more choice in workshop participation, and workshops can be combined to earn one of several different certificates. CITL Teaching Certificates offer faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants more ways to grow and reflect on their teaching practice while earning a useful credential.
Our Commitment
At CITL we aim to foster growth, reflection, and innovation in teaching—celebrating the diverse approaches instructors bring to the classroom, which, at its core, is what makes Illinois a great place to teach and learn. Our workshops support instructors at every stage of their career, fostering a campus culture where teaching is celebrated, supported, and continuously evolving.
