X3 Studio

Explore • Experience • Excel

A dynamic hub where faculty and students can find out what emerging technology can do to support their teaching, research, and storytelling. We are here to help you use generative AI, XR, and media production to turn your idea into reality.

Explore

Come look around. No project required.

Try a headset, talk with a local AI model, learn about how we can support your vision. Our open hours exist for wandering in and finding a path toward realizing your project or seeing what’s possible.

Experience

Bring an idea and get hands-on.

Collaborate with our staff to prototype an XR scene, record a pilot episode of your podcast, or test an AI workflow with a difficult data analytics project across our four specialized pods:

Media Hub

A professionally equipped podcast and livestream studio built for faculty, researchers, and students who want to produce content that looks and sounds professional.

AI Pod

A dedicated space to meet AI wherever you are. Guided, hands-on access to generative AI tools — from large language models to computer vision. Whether you’re building AI literacy, building a prototype, or need the flexibility and security of locally-run models, this is where you start.

Ideation Commons & Prototyping Zone

The place where “what if” becomes “what’s next.” Flexible furniture layouts, mobile whiteboards, large displays, and local AI models make this a natural home for collaborative thinking and work that needs room to grow.

XR Pod

Put the headset on and see where it takes you. Hands-on access to leading AR and VR hardware, guided demos, and the tools to build your own immersive experiences — from presentation practice to your next training module.

Excel

Take it past the finish line.

Bring us your idea and we will help you take it to the next step. When Dr. Fumihiro Kawano, a distinguished surgeon and researcher from Juntendo University in Tokyo, came to CITL with a request for a scientific animation, the team delivered — and continued the conversation with curiosity.

That curiosity changed everything. What started as a single animation became an immersive XR surgical training simulator, built on real patient CT data and designed to teach an incredibly precise liver surgery procedure. It started in this studio with a conversation.
