iFLEX Armory Innovation Classroom: Opening Summer 2017

The iFLEX Innovation Classroom completes a trio of spaces conveniently located on the first floor of the Armory building. The Innovation Classroom, along with the Innovation Studio and Innovation Tech Hub, offers a unique space for students and faculty to explore, share, and create.

Different is Better

The iFLEX Innovation Classroom is the first general assignment classroom on campus to combine mixed furniture styles and heights with enhanced technologies, project space, and temporary storage in a studio-learning environment. Fully reconfigurable with seating for 45, this newest addition to the iFLEX family of classroom spaces is designed for a variety of instructional and programmatic needs.

A Place for Collaboration

The mission of the iFLEX Innovation Classroom is to encourage creativity in teaching and learning, and the exploration of ideas from all disciplines. It’s part of a constellation of spaces at the University of Illinois that are connecting faculty and students in new ways:

  • Across the Disciplines
  • Across the Campus
  • Across the Community

From exploratory courses and flipped classroom initiatives, to collaborations with neighboring departments and neighboring communities, the Innovation Classroom at the Armory serves multiple—and multi-disciplinary—programs and purposes.

A Place for Discovery

Even as the landscape of higher education keeps changing, the power of place remains constant. The Innovation Classroom encourages exploration and discovery of all that this campus has to offer. Contact us to schedule a visit, or discuss instructional programming.
