Accessible Syllabus Template

Download the Accessible Syllabus Template in MS Word Format.
The accessible Word document syllabus template is a collaborative effort among the Office of the Provost, the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL), the Office of the Chief Information Officer: Digital Accessibility, and the Graduate College.

Accessible Canvas Course Template

The accessible course template contains a representative course module along with the campus Accessible Syllabus Template in Canvas page format (HTML). The Accessible Canvas Course Template can be downloaded as a Common Cartridge file (.imscc file) and easily imported into an empty Canvas shell to create a working Canvas course template. Here are the three steps to do so.

  1. Request an empty Canvas course shell using the Illinois Canvas Space Request tool.
  2. Download the CITL Accessible Course Template.
  3. Import the Common Cartridge file course template into the empty Canvas course shell you requested.
Learning Management System Checklists

These Learning Management System (LMS) checklists are designed to help you create accessible course content. The first checklist is LMS-agnostic, followed by platform-specific lists. Authoring accessible content enhances the learning experience for all students.
