Cutoff scores and placement messages are derived in collaboration with the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures and are reviewed annually. The policies below apply to all students entering UIUC in Summer 2009, Fall 2009, or Spring 2010.

The online German Placement Exam does not award proficiency credit.
