French Placement

Cutoff Scores and Placement Messages for 2010-2011

Cutoff scores and placement messages are derived in collaboration with the French Department and are reviewed annually. The policies below apply to all students entering Illinois in Summer 2010, Fall 2010, or Spring 2011.

The online French Placement Exam does not award proficiency credit.

62 - 69 0 - 4 Placed in French 103 or 133 (for students who want to major or minor)
70 - 77 0 - 4 Placed in French 104 or 134 (for students who want to major or minor)
78 - 88 0 - 4 Placed in French 205 or 207; consult with your advisor about other 200-level courses.
