Teaching Academies
Teaching and learning are at the very core of our purpose. Our vision is to create a thriving learning community for Illinois faculty so that they can significantly and positively impact student learning and personal development. Throughout the University of Illinois campus, you’ll find Teaching Academies housed in our colleges, each with common objectives—promote pedagogical knowledge, enhance instruction, advance and revitalize curricula, improve technological skills, and reward teaching excellence. Our goal is to help you to become an innovative and reflective teaching practitioner, and to encourage your productivity and success.
The Academies foster and provide faculty development opportunities for new and veteran faculty, including seminars and symposia, student-faculty roundtable discussions, and cultural diversity workshops. Topics covered range from ways in which educators can create effective learning environments, to ideas for active learning and student retention, to today’s best learning technologies.
Be sure to connect with the Teaching Academy in your college and join a thriving faculty professional development community.
