The Summer of AI launched with a generative AI Showcase hosted at the Siebel Center for Design. This multi-presenter event highlighted diverse and innovative uses of AI across campus. The kick-off started with a presentation by CITL's Erin Cruez Supporting Neurodiverse Learners with AI

In her 7-minute lightning talk Erin demonstrated how tools like ChatGPT and Copilot can scaffold executive functioning, simplify complex texts, and serve as academic success coaches—especially helpful for students with ADHD, ASD, or executive function challenges. View the recording of this presentation.

In addition the kick-off showcased demonstrations and discussions including:
  • AI Audio Tools: Local Models for Emotive Speech and Sound Generation, Yury Borukhovich
  • Aida the XR AI Assistant built with Illinois Chat, Alexander Dill
  • Context-Aware AI Workflows with Local Tools, Vishal Sachdev
  • Canva AI for Creative Content, Shenika Glover
  • M.C. Escher vs. AI: Who Wins in Art?, Robert Baird
