Add Images

Images are often used to explain content or to make content more visually attractive. Before you insert images into a wiki page, please make sure that you resize these images so they will load more quickly when viewed in a web browser.

Attach images to a page

To insert images into a page, follow steps below:

  1. In the page, click the Edit tab, and then click the Rich Text tab.
  2. Put your cursor on the sentence where you will like the image to be placed. Then click the image image icon. The image property window will pop up (see figure below).

  3. To attach an image:
    1. Click Browse to choose the image file you want to use. You can choose from Attached Images or From the Web options in the left sidebar.
    2. Click Open to upload your image.
  4. Select the image properties: Align, Thumbnail, and Border.
    1. Alignment: You can adjust the image position by selecting none, left, right or center.
    2. Thumbnail: Once you check the thumbnail box, the attached image will be displayed as a thumbnail rather than as a full-size image. When users click on the thumbnail, a full-size image will be displayed in a new window.
    3. Border: Your image can also sport a border or be borderless.
  5. Click the Insert button to insert the image.

In the Confluence Wiki environment, you may also display remote images. The remote images may be stored in web sites outside of the Confluence Wiki. To embed remote images, follow the steps below:

  1. In the page, click the Edit tab, and then click the Rich Text tab.
  2. Put your cursor on the sentences in which you would like the image to be placed. Then click the image image icon. An image property window will pop up (see figure of the image property window in the above section on "Attaching Images to a Page").
  3. Choose From the Web option in the left sidebar.
  4. Enter the URL of the image file in the Image URL text box.
  5. Click Insert.
