Add Links & Create Pages

Create a page

Adding a page is easy, and intuitive. However, the new page is independent from other pages by default. The wiki pages are organized in hierarchical structure, similar to the branches of a tree. We call this structure "page families." The current page is the parent page of the subpage; and the subpage is the child page of the top page. With this concept in mind, you will need to provide a link to connect the child page (new page) to the parent page (current page) once you add a page.

Link to a page in Confluence Wiki

To link to a page in the Confluence Wiki, please follow the steps below:

  1. On the page, click the Edit tab, and then click the Rich Text tab.
  2. Use the cursor to highlight sentences that the new page will link to (so that, later, you can click on these sentences to access the new page), and then click the insert link icon. The Insert Link window will pop-up.
  3. In the Link Text book, type in the new page title.
  4. Click Insert. Then a new child page will be added and linked to the current page (parent page).

For more information, you may consult the instructions on Adding and Removing Links in the Rich Text Editor.
