ESTIMATES

We provide estimates for every job, but please know these are subject to change after the recording of an event. For example, if your event runs over the projected time requested, you will be charged an additional fee.

BASE RATE $102 PER CREW / PER HOUR

The CITL Event Recording Services fees have a base rate of $102 per crew per hour, plus an hour of set-up and teardown. Most jobs require one videographer. We charge by the quarter hour after the first hour (so a talk that is 1.5 hours isn’t charged 2 hours). Usually we charge $25 per additional quarter of an hour.

LECTURE RECORDING WITH ONE CAMERA

In general, a 50-minute (one hour) lecture costs $200 if recorded with one camera.

One hour for set-up and breakdown and one hour for recording.

This includes the camera operator covering a presenter and their projection. We come back to our studio, edit the beginning and end of the video/s, add titles and host it on Illinois Media Space at no additional charge: https://mediaspace.illinois.edu/

We are happy to discuss and provide you with other delivery options. For instance, we often deliver the video via Box. Ultimately, the client owns the video and we will get the media to them using the preferred delivery method.

POST PRODUCTION

For a basic recording of a person talking, we edit the beginning and end of the video, add titles and upload the video to Illinois Media Space. If we have a day-long (or longer) event that involves multiple presenters we will charge post-production time at the regular rate of $24 per video (that requires editing/uploading). This will be included in the estimate.

TRANSCRIPTION / CAPTIONING SERVICE

If a video is to be made public the client must make sure all video/s recorded are transcribed and captioned. This is not at our request, it is required by law and is University of Illinois policy. See the helpful links below:

LIVE WEB STREAMING

A $77 additional fee is charged for any streaming job. This is to cover the cost of going to a venue to test the network before the event.

Please note: We do not provide or monitor computers in other rooms (or buildings) for the purpose of playback/projection. The client is asked to handle these arrangements.

TRAVEL

If we travel out-of-town for a job, we calculate travel at $50 an hour plus any travel expenses, per crew. It's only our half-rate because crew time is booked, but our crew is not doing production work during this travel time.
