Fall 2017 Programming Taking Shape

CITL is actively working on programming for the fall. Be on the lookout for information related to new faculty orientation, the Graduate Academy for College Teaching, an enhanced Junior Faculty Series, a revised Teaching with Technology series, and many other opportunities to learn best practices for enhancing your teaching and engaging your students.

Interested in Flipping Your Course?

Free to faculty, staff, and teaching assistants. A special introductory workshop will be offered on Tuesday, May 23, from 9:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M in Armory 428. FLIP Trip! presented by CITL staff will cover some of the typical challenges faculty face when transitioning to a flipped classroom format, including what to move online and what to do in class. We’ll experience the benefits of this new type of classroom while exploring a variety of active and collaborative learning activities that can be modified for any discipline. Come and have fun! Bring a laptop and a friend. From the first floor take the red Southwest elevator to the 4th floor. Room 428 is just off the elevator. Registration is open

Congratulations to everyone who earned a Teaching Certificate this year!

We were honored to award 131 certificates to 121 instructors from 45 departments.  We commend your dedication to excellent teaching and meaningful learning.

Call for Presenters: August 2017 Grad Academy and Grading Symposium

Faculty, academic professionals, and experienced TAs are invited to participate as presenters and facilitators in the Graduate Academy for College Teaching (August 21-22, 2017) and the Symposium on Grading & Office Hours (August 22, 2017).  The Graduate Academy is our program for new TAs with classroom teaching responsibilities with the Symposium of Grading for those TAs with non-classroom responsibilities. There are opportunities to create your own concurrent session, facilitate a lesson from a pre-existing lesson plan, or facilitate microteaching sessions (a great choice for those with some experience but who may not feel like an expert quite yet). Follow this link to volunteer.
