Volunteer for TA Training!
More than 750 graduate students will be starting as a Teaching Assistant (TA) this August. Despite that daunting number, we offer a TA training program that involves small group experiences, concurrent sessions that allow TAs to customize their training, and practice teaching opportunities. We can only do this because many experienced TAs, staff, and faculty volunteer to help. We invite you to volunteer and help make this upcoming TA training program a success between Monday, August 18 to Thursday, August 21. Submit the call for volunteer form to participate in the upcoming Fall 2025 Graduate Academy for College Teaching.
Participate in Provost-Sponsored Hybrid Teaching Research
Are you interested in reaching more students or creating flexible learning paths? Is your department looking to explore hybrid learning options?
Openings are still available for Fall 2025 participation in a Provost-Sponsored Hybrid Teaching Research program exploring the challenges of hybrid teaching when students are in-person in the classroom and attending remotely at the same time. CITL is overseeing the project in collaboration with Technology Services.
The study is designed to gather data on effective classroom technologies and innovative teaching strategies, including content delivery, engagement strategies, and learning outcomes. A Service-in-Excess (SIE) stipend is available for instructors who meet specific criteria including classroom size, location, and style of teaching. For more information please send a brief note about your course and interests to citl-info@illinois.edu.
