Supporting Digital Accessibility
As part of our commitment to accessibility and compliance with ADA Title II, the University of Illinois is working to ensure that all digital content is accessible, which includes websites, online courses, and related applications. This effort aligns with our institutional history of pioneering accessibility solutions and provides an opportunity to set a new standard for digital accessibility.
You can help move this important work forward. Take advantage of the following resources to help make your content accessible:
- Attend a QuickStart Workshop – Learn essential accessibility practices in a concise, hands-on format.
- Visit Digital Accessibility Office Hours – Get tailored support and ask questions specific to your unit. Office Hours are held the second Tuesday of each month on Zoom via https://go.illinois.edu/DigitalAccessHour.
- Revisit the Digital Accessibility FAQ – Find quick answers about the initiative.
- Explore PopeTech as an Instructor – Instructors can start exploring this tool to identify and improve accessibility within Canvas.
- Stay Tuned for the Digital Accessibility Website – An upcoming digital accessibility website is in development to provide guidance, tools, and best practices all in one place.
Summer Course Design Series
Join Lucas Anderson and the CITL Grad Affiliates for their annual summer course design series. This summer, the focus is on getting the work done! Each hour-long session features a short overview of an important course design topic, with the rest of the time dedicated for you to work on that aspect of your course while Lucas and the Affiliates are there to help. Perfect for those about to teach their first course, also great for those who want to take a fresh look at an old course. The sessions take place Wednesday, June 25, Friday, June 27, Monday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 2 in person on campus. For details, see the summer workshop series and registration information (PDF)
