German Placement

Cutoff Scores and Placement Messages for 2012-2013

Placement into the German courses is based on the student's score on the German Placement Exam. Cutoff scores and placement recommendations are derived in collaboration with the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures and are reviewed annually. The policies below apply to all students entering Illinois in Summer 2012, Fall 2012, or Spring 2013.

The online German Placement Exam does not award proficiency credit.

84 - 100 Placed into GER 2121

1 If you do not already have college-level credit in German, you may take the German Proficiency Exam in August 2015 or January 2016 prior to enrolling in a German course.
