German Placement: Cutoff Scores and Placement Messages for 2016-2017

Placement into the German courses is based on the student's score on the German Placement Exam. Cutoff scores and placement recommendations are derived in collaboration with the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures and are reviewed annually. The policies below apply to all students entering Illinois in Summer 2016, Fall 2016, or Spring 2017.

The online German Placement Exam does not award proficiency credit. Only students who do well on the placement test may attempt the proficiency exam.
