Spanish Placement

Cutoff Scores and Placement Messages for 2008-2009

Cutoff scores and placement messages are derived in collaboration with the Spanish Department and are reviewed annually. The policies below apply to all students entering UIUC in Summer 2008, Fall 2008, or Spring 2009.

The online Spanish Placement Exam does not award proficiency credit.

  2 - 4 Placed in Spanish 122
39 - 48 0 - 4 Placed in Spanish 103 or 125
49 - 53 0 - 4 Placed in Spanish 140, 141, 142, or 143
54 - 70 0 - 4 Placed in Spanish 200 and 204, which are both prerequisites for further study
